Canada supporting Guantanamo Bay

Why is Canada letting it's citizens be held in Guantanamo Bay? It's a "legalized" torture prison for the US and not only should be shut down, but the US government should be charged with war crimes for its operation. There is certainly no having to prove anyone guilty, they don't even need to charge anyone to keep them there.

Canadian officials have known that 16 year old Canadian citizen Omar Khadr has been undergoing both physical and mental torture by the US at Guantanamo Bay.

Shame on Canadians for not speaking out. We need to officially condemn Guantanamo Bay as inhuman and illegal. Who are the terrorists now?

Read Whistle should have been blown, experts say of Khadr by :
Canadian officials who knew how Omar Khadr was being treated at Guantanamo Bay had a moral responsibility to go public with their information once it became evident that the federal government wasn't going to help him, ethics experts say.
Daniel Weinstock, director of the Centre for Research Ethics at the University of Montreal, says that since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, there has been an increased willingness to turn a blind eye to human rights abuses.

"There is no such thing as a `fair process' under such circumstances, and the Canadian government should admit that and demand Khadr's repatriation immediately."

I am ashamed that our government is condoning human rights abuses because the US is demanding it. If Khadr was a white Christian US citizen being held in Iraq you know the US would be harshly criticizing their abuses and using it to justify more bombings and killings.
