Well, Canada's infamous equestrian has now become our golden boy. Once banned from Spruce Meadows and the Canadian show jumping team, he now is the best in the world.
However, perhaps this misunderstood athlete represents hope for many. Coming from a middle class background after dropping out of high school and riding his way to the top of the elite upper class is quite a feat in such a sport that is thought to be unattainable by those who are not rich. Good thing he was allowed to ride again, not just to get Canada those Olympic medals, but to show just how important second chances are.
Congratulations to Eric Lamaze! Way to get to the top!!
